BE THE CHANGE
Stereotypes are universal; meaning, they exist in every community, society, and culture. I've decided to help with people's understanding of why we stereotype. Human society has exhibited so much diversity where we encounter people of different genders, race, ethnicity and sex. It is now time to change the ways we think about certain people.
ABOUT MY PROJECT
Hi there, and welcome aboard my English Project. A few months ago it was just me and a blank piece of paper. Then there was lots of scribbling, erasing, taking a break, procrastinating... And finally, here it is. The result of hard work, in-depth research, creativity and writing. I decided to publish my English School Project online because I hope it will benefit others, and because...I’m really proud of it! Have a look and contact me with questions or comments. Tackling this project required breaking it into several phases. The most important stage was outlining my goals and defining the research questions. Once these were in place, I spent hours at the school library, surfed the net for online resources and carried out various experiments and tests. Writing came next, and the outcome is here for you to judge. Would love to hear your thoughts and comments - contact me at school or by email. LET'S BE THE CHANGE!
THIS IS A CATCHY TITLE
Why I Named  this Selam?
I am from a foreign background myself. My parents were born and raised in Ethiopia, while I was given the opportunity to be raised and educated in America. I proudly identify and participate in both Ethiopian and American culture; in Amharic (the main language in Ethiopia) Selam means "peace" which is what we should strive for to stand as a united front.
CULTURAL DIVERSITY

"The single story creates stereotypes. And the problem with stereotypes is not that they are untrue, but that they are incomplete. They make one story become the only story."
